72nd Members Meeting at Goodwood - 29th & 30th March 2014

Thursday 20th March -

Ian Gwynne and Steve Rimmer have both been invited to the 72nd Member Meeting at Goodwood – unfortunately Steve will be unable to attend and has passed this opportunity to Ian to drive his ex works GpB Ford RS200 at the Goodwood Members Meeting on 29th-30th March 2014. The car will be in good company with many other GpB cars taking part. Ian was delighted with the opportunity to drive the ex Stig Blomqvist car at this fantastic event.
Because of it’s history it is rare that this car would take part in racing events or sprints other than the Goodwood Hill climb and a very few other demonstration events or shows, so this will be one to watch and hopefully see the car perform well in timed demo’s against the clock.

Some will remember why the group B’s rally cars were outlawed by the governing bodies of the day and some will remember this period as the golden era of rallying, but this short lived period in rallying history is remembered by many, loved by many and a real landmark in motor sport development. So it is really great that this car with all its history will be there to mark it’s place in its original form, and be able to contribute to the celebrations of the Grp B racing era.

Ian has promised to take great care of the car - the car will be raced on a tarmac circuit where chicanes will be put in place to make the circuit more interesting and challenging for the drivers.

BGMsport and Ian extend their many thanks to Steve Rimmer.
